Ice warning follows snowfall

AN ICE WARNING has been issued by the Met Office following the heavy fall of snow in parts of East Sussex on Saturday, February 4.
Residents were warned to take extra care on roads and pavements, after the ‘Be Aware’ yellow ice warning by the Met.
Some train commuters suffered minor delays due to icy conditions on the Southern Rail network.
A ‘few services may run with shorter formations than usual’, a spokesman said.
Farmers were using their own tractors and snowploughs to clear some rural roads.
Driving conditions east and north of Heathfield were still difficult this morning.
East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service and police said there were no issues relating to the snowfall.
But some day centres and children’s centres run by East Sussex County Council have been affected. Most recycling centres and all registration offices are operating a normal service.
Icy roads and heavy snowfall were blamed for school closures across Lewes and Wealden districts.
East Sussex County Council said some schools were either fully closed or partially closed, today, February 6.
Partial closures today: Fire Church of England Primary School, Lewes; Herstmonceux Church of England Primary School; High Hurstwood Church of England Primary School; Jarvis Brook School, Crowborough; Netherfield Church of England Primary School;
Ninfield Church of England Primary School; Uckfield Community Technology College.
Full closures today: All Saints and St Richards Church of England Primary School, Heathfield; College Centrel, Lewes; Etchingham Church of England Primary School; Framfield Church of England Primary School; Little Horsted Church of England Primary School, Uckfield;
Mark Cross Church of England Primary School, Crowborough; Mayfield Church of England Primary School.

Gemma Everest said: “We spent about four hours outside making her.
“Luckily we have businesses behind our house so we cleared the road just outside the house, as well as a strip about four metres wide by 20 metres, to get enough snow to do it.
“As for the sculpting - we did most of it by hand but used a kitchen spatula to add some of the detail to it, as well as Emily’s accessories - the tiara, earrings and necklace.
“Unfortunately today she resembles Marie Antoinette as someone decided to remove her head - but it was fantastic fun making her.”
