DIVA100 2012

TV’s Davina McCall from Wadhurst will take to the saddle when she joins riders for the third women-only Action DIVA Sussex bike ride, setting out from the East Sussex National, Uckfield, on Saturday May 11.

More women than ever are getting hooked on road cycling as one of the best ways to get fit and stay in shape. Action DIVA is a cycle ride just for the girls and Davina wants as many as possible to join her. Cyclists participating in the ride raise money to help fund medical research into conditions affecting babies and children. Davina calls on all women to join the fun and raise a huge amount to help children’s charity Action Medical Research.

Action Medical Research has been funding medical breakthroughs 1952. The charity is currently supporting work around Downs syndrome, epilepsy, sickle cell disease, and diabetes, as well as some rare and distressing conditions that severely affect children.

The ride offers a choice of routes including 17, 33 and tougher 63 mile route which goes through some of the best scenery in Sussex.

The ride, supported by leading bike brand Trek, includes rest stops and lunch. Staff riders, first aiders and massage therapists will also be on hand. Entry is £28 and participants will also need to raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship. You can sign up now at www.action.org.uk/diva
