Lewes remembers the victims of Holocausts and genocides

The Chair of Lewes District Council, Cllr Tony Nicholson, and the Mayor of Lewes, Cllr Michael Chartier, will mark Holocaust Memorial Day on January 27 at the All Saints Centre in Lewes.

The afternoon event starts at 3pm and includes a candlelighting ceremony, music and selected readings followed by the Academy Award-winning film Life is Beautiful.

The event is free of charge and open to all, but tickets are required as places at the venue are limited.

Holocaust Memorial Day is held every year to learn lessons from the past and to apply them to the present day to create a safer, better future. It remembers the millions who died in the Holocaust and subsequent genocides.

For tickets please visit Lewes Town Hall reception or telephone 01273 471469.
