Look at Alfriston Youth Hostel on YHA Day

THE youth hostel in Alfriston will thrown their doors to the local community for the first ever Youth Hostel Association Day on September 15.

Light refreshments will be served on the day and organised tours of the hostel and its sounds. Everyone is welcome to attend the event run by the Youth Hostel Association for ‘YHA Day’.

Adrian Lamb, manager of YHA Alfriston, said: “YHA Alfriston is a wonderful characterful 16th century Sussex flint house that makes for a memorable stay. We’re really looking forward to opening our doors to the local community on YHA Day and showing all that we have to offer.”

People interested in the hostel will be able to win some prizes during the period September 1 to 16. Prizes include £1,000, life membership of YHA and an overnight stay for four people in a Youth Hostel. Raffle tickets cost only 50p and are available to buy from YHA Alfriston and other participating Youth Hostels in England and Wales. Winners will be announced on September 28.

YHA Day is an opportunity for Youth Hostels in England and Wales to reach out to their local communities and showcase their amenities as well as the changing face of the 82 year old organisation.

Youth Hostels are increasing in popularity with young families and school groups.
