Mattress fire at retirement flat

AN ELDERLY woman was treated by paramedics after her mattress caught fire a retirement flat.

Firefighters from Seaford and Newhaven were called at 6.55pm to Merryfield Road, Seaford.

The fire was put out with an extinguisher and the woman was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
