Mobile phone mast to be put up in Polegate
A MOBILE PHONE mast will be set up in Polegate after councillors gave planning consent.
Eastbourne and District Enterprise Agency Ltd (EDEAL), based at a business centre in Dittons Road, Polegate, applied to erect a 20m high by 1.4m width lattice communications mast, coloured dark green and enclosed by a two metre high security metal fence, on a single car parking space in the south west corner of the business site.
Wealden District councillors gave permission last December but with a planning condition that the colour of the mast should be in ‘neutral grey’.
Concerns were raised by Polegate town councillors who said grey would be ‘the least intrusive’, according to town clerk Jo Ognjanovic
An EDEAL planing statement said the new wireless broadband service complemented by the mobile phone mast would increase the business profile of South Wealden District.
