New jobs as store opens its doors

Eleven new jobs have been created as another store opens in Hailsham - a fourth in as many months.

The market town has welcomed national do-it-yourself chain store Screwfix, as it continues to attract businesses and buck the national trend for empty shops.

The new store on Diplocks Way will allow tradesmen to choose from more than 11,000 different products at a time and place that suits them.

Screwfix store manager, Mark Crowther, said he was looking forward to trading in Hailsham. He said: “This is our first store in Hailsham and it is great news; creating jobs and introducing the company to the area.

“This new store will give tradesmen better access to all the trade essentials in one place, so they are fully prepared for any job.

“At Screwfix we pride ourselves on the speed, reliability and convenience of our service and are looking forward to welcoming the tradesmen of Hailsham, as well as local experienced DIY-ers who are also part of our loyal customer base.”

The store in Hailsham offers customers a quick and easy way to purchase products.

By simply selecting items from the catalogue and using Screwfix’s Click & Collect service to check they are in stock, customers can collect their purchases just five minutes later from the shop.

Hailsham’s Screwfix is the 259th to open nationally selling tools, accessories and hardware products.

For more information go to www.screwfix.com, or visit the store Monday to Friday 7am-8pm, Saturday 8am- 6pm and Sunday 10am-4pm.
