GET out those World War II vintage dresses as Newhaven Fort hosts a day of 1940s nostalgia and remembrance day to mark the Battle of Britain.

The annual Battle of Britain Commemoration Day will start at 10.30am on Sunday (September 9) with a programme of events and activities.

Entertainment will include Seaford Silver Band playing war time tunes, Haven Harmonies and the Brighton Boogie dancers demonstrating swing and jive dance and Swingtime Sweethearts singers, singing 1940s classics.

Period military vehicles will be on display and there will be living history groups.

Women’s Land Army members will also be at the Fort meeting old friends and colleagues for their annual reunion.

Tickets £6 for adults, £5 concessions and £4 for children on the door.
