Ofsted praises South Malling CE Primary School in Lewes
SCHOOL Inspectors have praised South Malling CE Primary in Lewes as good with outstanding features.
The verdict was revealed in an Ofsted report published earlier this month.
Good marks were chalked up right across the school and Inspectors highlighted as “outstanding” the pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, the effectiveness of care, guidance and support, and the engagement with parents and carers. Ofsted also confirmed that the school is improving.
The news was warmly welcomed by South Malling Headteacher, Jo O’Donoghue.
She said: “This good report is down to the hard work of all our pupils, parents and carers, and teachers and governors.
“I am particularly pleased that the Inspectors have praised the care given to all our pupils and that they have highlighted our pupils’ positive behaviour, cheerful outlook and warm relationships.
“We are also very proud that the Inspectors highlighted the work we have done to engage with families leading to strong links with our parents and carers.”
The Ofsted Inspectors said that the successful promotion of good teaching has led to pupils making good progress and that attainment levels were beginning to rise.
