AN ART competition with cash prizes up for grabs was launched by The Crypt Gallery in Seaford this week.

People are being urged to submit their art work for a shot at winning the top prize of £100 and exhibiting at The Crypt.

The launch event for the Open Art Exhibition was well attended and received by potential exhibitors on Wednesday September 19.

The Open Art Exhibition and competition will be held from November 10 - 15 November at The Crypt Gallery.

Entry to the competition costs £5 for up to two works (free for any junior artist under 16).

There is a £100 cash prize for the winning adult entry and a special trophy for the junior prize winner.

People who have never exhibited before are particularly encouraged to enter the competition.

Work will be hung by specialist volunteers from the Crypt Gallery Committee.

The beautiful Medieval Undercroft space below the main gallery will also be used to show work.

There will be free entry for visitors to the final exhibition.
