Parchment Trust team claim football trophy
A football team from The Parchment Trust has won a Sussex wide tournament run by Brighton and Hove Albion.
The trust is a locally based charity which provides a day centre for young disabled adults in Norman Road and a pioneering horticultural scheme on The Ridge.
And, earlier this month, some of the people who use the service travelled to Burgess Hill for the six-a-side contest.
Having performed well through the group stage a semi final win against Outside B team earned The Parchment Trust a place in the final against the reigning champions – Outside A. The keenly-contested final saw Parchment go 1-0 down before battling back to eventually run out 3-2 winners.
A spokesman for the charity said: "As ever, football was the real winner on the day, acting as a vehicle to build confidence and team spirit, as well as giving occasion to once again meet up with old friends and make new ones from across our region.
"Many thanks must go to the Brighton and Hove Albion In The Community team for yet another superbly-run competition."
