Polar explorer Jan Meek to give talk Newhaven Chamber of Commerce event
POLAR explorer and Atlantic ocean rower Jan Meek will be giving a talk at Newhaven Chamber of Commerce’s next event.
She is the only woman in the world who has walked to the North Pole and rowed across an ocean.
The talk will take place on Tuesday September 25 at the Newhaven Enterprise Centre on Denton Island in Newhaven.
People should arrive at 6pm but the talk will kick off at 6.30pm.
It will be free for Newhaven Chamber of Commerce members. There will be a £5 charge for non members, but this includes a glass of wine and some nibbles.
Chamber of Commerce president Annie Lorys said: “Come along and enjoy an evening of inspiration from motivational speaker Jan Meek.
“Having rowed across the Atlantic and walked to the North Pole Jan firmly believes that we’re all in charge of our own destinies.”
Jan, who is based in Bexhill, will be giving an illustrated talk with a slide presentation.
After the talk there will be networking opportunities.
