Police appeal for witnesses to seafront assault in Brighton

SUSSEX Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault on two men in their 20s who were attacked in Marine Parade, Brighton on Thursday (August 30).

The victims were having a night out in Brighton when the assault took place between 11.50pm and 12.10am.

One of the victims received a severe injury to his ear which required hospital treatment. The other received minor injuries. Both are from Brighton.

Five men were arrested on suspicion of GBH and questioned before being released on bail until October 19.

They were a 35-year-old man from Lewes, a 23-year-old man from Peacehaven, a 35-year-old man from Worthing and two men from Shoreham, aged 18 and 22.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call 101 quoting serial 6 of 31/08. Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
