Police appeal over Uckfield burglary
Latest news.
Police are appealing for witnesses to a burglary at a property in Manor Way, Uckfield, between 11.30pm on Thursday 30 August and 5.50am on Friday, 31 August.
The suspect or suspects entered an insecure property through a rear door before stealing a wallet and handbag while the occupants were asleep upstairs
Wealden Public Engagement Officer PCSO Jamie Harwood said: “This type of burglary is particularly upsetting for the victims and we continue to urge homeowners to lock all doors and windows at night or when leaving the property even for a short period.
“This was more than likely an opportunist thief who found an unlocked door. You can always call your local officers who will pop round to offer crime prevention advice. Their details can be found by going to www.sussex.police.uk”
Any witness or anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting serial 0224 of 31/8. Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
