Police discovered stolen motorcycle on Cuckoo Trail
TWO off duty road policing officers, who had finished their shift at Polegate, were cycling home towards Eastbourne on the Cuckoo Trail when they spotted an abandoned motorbike.
Despite being off duty they stopped to look at the 125cc Tornado motorcycle at 4.20pm on Monday, September 24.
It appeared to have been abandoned on the trail.
They found that the registration plate had been removed and that it had been hotwired. The vehicle was confirmed as having been recently stolen from Eastbourne.
The officers checked the area and found a male nearby, who was subsequently arrested in relation to the theft of the motorbike and taken to Eastbourne custody. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.
A second male found nearby is helping police with their enquiries.
If anyone saw the motorbike being ridden on the Cuckoo Trail about this time they are asked to contact police on 101 quoting serial 1175 of September 24.
