Police name teenager who died in A26 crash

SUSSEX Police confirmed the motorcyclist who died after a crash on the A26 was Luke Grundy, 17, from Newhaven.

Friends paid tribute to the teenager who died when his bike collided with a lorry.

He was on the A26 between Lewes and Newhaven when the tragedy happened on Wednesday June 24.

Luke was the second motorcyclist to be killed on the road in a week.

A tribute page has been set up to him on social networking website Facebook.

The accident happened near South Heighton at 5.20pm.

Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses.

Anyone who saw the moped travelling southbound, particularly if they were travelling north between South Heighton and Beddingham, should call 0845 60 70 999 quoting Operation Cheldon.
