Quality Street event in Newhaven town today
LEWES Neighbourhood Policing Team will be holding a Quality Street event in Newhaven Town centre today from midday until 2pm.
During this event, officers will be conducting high visibility patrols to tackle local priorities.
Licensing officers will be visiting locations and speaking with people about issues surrounding shoplifting offences.
Neighbourhood police officers will also be available in the town centre to answer any questions that you may have.
Lizzie Sword-Daniels, local community engagement officer for Lewes, said: “The local council representative will be visiting the taxi rank to remind drivers of the pedestrian precinct rules.
“There will be extra street sweeping patrols in the town and efforts will be made to cleanse the car park stairwells.
“Public health officers will be in the town to assess areas where action is required to address issues of waste accumulation.
“The local council animal warden will be patrolling the area to identify any issues surrounding dog fouling and will be happy to speak with residents with any concerns.
“We will be in company with representatives from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service who will be booking home safety visits and free smoke alarm checks for anyone who would like one.”
