Oil rig off Birling Gap
Staff at Newhaven port had a surprise when they spotted a rig in the sea off Birling Gap.
The Sea Fox 7 deepsea jackup turned up on Sunday February 17 en route to Holyhead and stayed for a week until yesterday (Sunday February 24) waiting for a good weather window to continue its journey.
It was accompanied by two large deepsea tugs, which went into Newhaven Harbour for the week.
