Roads blocked by fallen trees around East Sussex

Roads were blocked or only navigable with great care after high winds brought trees down across East Sussex this afternoon (Wednesday.)

East Sussex County Council’s highways engineers put out warnings on Twitter asking drivers to take care, particularly as the light failed at about 4.30pm.

Stone Cross Road, Crowborough was blocked by a fallen tree and branches blocked Legsheath Lane, Forest Row.

Cowbeech Road, Rushlake Green and Church Lane, Hellingly were impassable as a result of a trees which fell across the carriageways.

Drivers using the C7 between Lewes and Newhaven were warned that the road was only passable with great care as a result of low branches and the Ringmer to Glynde road was also partially blocked.
