Saturday - St Leonards parking charges exhibition

A specialist transport and economic consultancy has been drafted in to assess parking supply and demand in the light of a regeneration programme underway in St Leonards town centre.

The consultancy, Colin Buchanan and Partners Ltd, has submitted a draft report to Hastings Borough Council, which is now asking for comments on the findings and proposals.

The economic impact assessment was also compiled to tackle the concerns of local businesses on the impact of the parking charges, according to the council.

A public exhibition of the report's key findings and suggestions will take place from 19 January to 1 February at the Royal Victoria Hotel, Marina, St Leonards, between 10am and 7pm every day.

Representatives from Colin Buchanan will be present at the exhibition between 10am and 2pm on the two Saturdays (19 and 26 January).

The full report will be made available on the council website at: www.hastings.gov.uk from 19 January.

Comments can be made at either the public exhibition or via an e-mail addressed to: stleonardsparkingstudy@cbuchanan.co.uk or by post to: St Leonards Parking Consultation, Colin Buchanan, Newcombe House, 45 Notting Hill Gate, London, W11 3PB. All responses must be submitted in writing by 4 February, 2008.
