Scaffolding put in place to keep Uckfield High Street safe

Due to the level of structural damage caused by the fire in Uckfield High Street earlier this week, a comprehensive scaffolding scheme is being put in place, according to Wealden District Council.

This is needed to ensure the continued safety for High Street users and construction teams working on the damaged buildings.

The traffic contraflow currently in place will have to be maintained until scaffolding work is completed.

This is unlikely to be before the end of next week.

Uckfield remains open for business as usual.

Shops in Olives Yard can be accessed by the public and all the car parks are fully operational.
