Seaford man charged with attempted murder

SUSSEX Police said 62-year-old Paul Allwright, retired, of North Way, Seaford, has been charged with one count of attempted murder and possession of a shotgun with intent to endanger life.

This relates to an incident in North Way, Seaford on September 16.

Mr Allwright was arrested on Wednesday (October 10) following his release from hospital, having been injured by police during the incident.

He will appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court today (Friday 12 October).

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is conducting an independent investigation into Sussex Police’s use of firearms during the incident.
