Seaford murder: Identity released

THE IDENTITY of a dead man believed to have been murdered in Seaford has been released.

Ahmed Remon Hayder, 27, who was known as Ray, was found dead in the landing of living accommodation above an architect's shop in Sutton Park Road, at 1pm on Monday, February 1.

He lived above the shop, linked to the Moon of India Restaurant, with his family.

A post-mortem has revealed Mr Hayder died from head injuries.

Mr Hayder was a British national from the Bangladeshi community who had lived in Seaford all his life. He also worked as a waiter at the family-owned restaurant.

Mr Hayder ran the restaurant during the week before his death – while his parents were on holiday in Bangladesh. He was last seen by restaurant staff at 11pm on Sunday.

Detective Chief Inspector Adam Hibbert,said: "Our thoughts are very much with Remon's family. This tragic incident is being treated as a murder and we are concentrating all our efforts on identifying and arresting those responsible.

"Remon died from head injuries sustained some time after 11pm on Sunday and before midday Monday.

"I urge anyone with information, however insignificant it might seem, to come forward."

Police thanked residents and authorities who have been helping with the investigation.
