Seaford Striders’ Rita to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for charity

A SEAFORD restaurant owner has raised almost £4,000 for Great Ormond Street’s Children’s Charity.

Rita Gorman will ascend Mount Kilimanjaro from February 9 to 19, climbing a dizzying 6,000m.

As part of her training she has scaled Mount Pico Mulleres and Pas l’Escalette.

Rita, who runs the Golden Palace, said: “I have been training hard in the past few months, rambling with the Seaford Rambling Club two to three times a week, running with the Seaford Striders and swimming three times a week. The raffle at the Golden Palace is going well and so far I have raised £3,900.”

Last year she trekked the Great Wall of China in aid of Have a Heart.

Call the Golden Palace on 01323 873333 or visit www.justgiving.com/Rita-Gorman.
