Seasonal 'air hall' given green light at tennis club
A LEWES tennis club has been given permission to put up a seasonal inflatable covering over two courts – despite opposition from a number of local residents, two conversvation groups and the district council's conservation officer.
Soutdown Sports Club on Cockshut Road has successfully applied for planning permission to put up a dark green inflatable 'air hall' to cover the courts for the winter.
On November 18 Lewes District Council's planning committee rubberstamped the application which is close to the Lewes Priory and in an official Conservation Area.
It is also in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (ANOB) and part of the upcoming South Downs National Park.
