Severe weather warning for ice issued in East Sussex by Met Office

The Met Office has issued a yellow severe weather for ice in East Sussex which is valid until Wednesday morning (March 13).

Its forecast for the region said wintry showers would affect some southeastern and eastern areas of England overnight.

In combination with a widespread frost and partly melted snow in some areas, icy stretches are likely to become a hazard, primarily for untreated surfaces. Snowfall will be mostly restricted to a dusting here and there, but a few places could see a couple of centimetres, according to the Met Office.

The public should be aware of the potential for disruption, especially to travel.
