Snow could be on the way back to East Sussex
Storm clouds
Anyone thinking the past couple of days’ warmer weather has arrived to stay could be in for a shock next week in East Sussex.
The Met Office says much colder conditions are expected to develop from Monday (March 11).
The prediction is for rain, sleet and hill snow in the south-east at first, clearing away with brighter conditions elsewhere spreading south.
Snow showers are likely to increasingly affect eastern regions of the country through next week, but all areas are at risk of seeing sleet, hail and snow showers at times.
The Met Office says there is a risk of some significant and disruptive amounts of snow in places, but there is currently uncertainty regarding which areas are most at risk.
Widespread overnight frosts will return with a risk of icy patches.
A longer range forecast is that it may gradually become slightly less cold by the following week (from Monday March 18) as bands of rain edge eastwards, perhaps preceded by further snow.
