Sporty tots get on their marks with grant
Willingdon Pre-School received a £500 grant to boost their sporty dreams.
The cash was given to the school for its “Sporty Tots” initiative to promote healthy children through sport.
The money was handed over by Willingdon and Jevington Parish Council chairman John Pritchett after the council agreed to award the cash at a finance and policy meeting.
The cash will go toward providing sport training with professionals for pre-school children to promote healthy children through sport.
Council Chairman John Pritchett said “It is fantastic to see sport and exercise promoted at this age level, especially as this year we hosted the Olympics which has increased the awareness of sport and the need for regular exercise.
The Parish Council would like to thank all involved in this project and wish them every success in the future”.
Pam Tingley Manager of the pre-school said she was delighted the Parish Council had been able to help with this important initiative and added her grateful thanks on behalf of all the children and staff.
