Sussex Police appeal for witnesses after man attacked in Lewes
A rush hour attack on a man in Lewes may have been witnessed by people making their way home from work.
The 28-year-old local man was walking close to South Downs Road at around 6pm on Thursday (November 27) when he was hit on the head leaving him with a wound and feeling very dazed.
He recalls someone feeling around the pockets of his hooded top and then saw two men running off in the direction of Mayhew Way.
The victim believes that they may have been trying to steal his iPod, although they did not take anything from him.
He made his way home where ambulance personnel attended and took him to the Royal Sussex County Hospital for treatment.
The men were both white and were wearing dark clothing.
Police are examining CCTV footage from a number of premises in the area between Tescos, where the victim had shopped, and Mayhew Way, but they would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the attack or who may have seen the two suspects in the time around the incident.
Please call Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 1347 of 27/11.
