Teenager designes Polegate calendar for hospice

HUNDREDS OF POUNDS have been raised by a teenager for a hospice after he called on residents to help create a calendar showing life in Polegate.

Dan Dunbar, aged only 18, of Porters Way, was the organiser of the Polegate and Village Life Calendar, sales of which led to an impressive £1,500 being given to St Wilfrid’s Hospice. He raised the money from proceeds made through the second annual photography competition, giving residents a chance to turn photos of the town into a calendar with sponsorship by businesses.

Dan Dunbar, project manager, said: “Polegate and local residents have been very supportive in making the calendar a success for the second year.

“I would like to thank everyone involved for their support especially those who have purchased a calendar. I would like to extend my thanks to the sponsors for making it possible to produce the calendars and also those who have been able to sell the calendars in local shops.”

Jenna Stringer, events co-ordinator at St Wilfrids Hospice, said: “We’re so grateful for this generous donation from Dan Dunbar and for all his hard work in supporting us.

“The support of our local community is vital to ensure we can continue to provide skilled and compassionate care.”
