TEENAGER'S CLIFF SLIP

THE MOTHER of a Hailsham teenager who had to be rescued by air ambulance after falling down a steep slope paid tribute to 'wonderful' paramedics, doctors and the school team who looked after him.

Linda Clarke of Downash Farm described how John-Edward, 13, has been on an escorted school orienteering trip when he missed his footing and slipped 150 feet down the hill at Cow Gap near Beachy Head last Thursday.

She told the Express: 'Lots of people rush to complain when things like this happen but we have nothing but praise for the people who looked after John-Edward.

'He is up and about and looking forward to his summer holiday in Scotland – thanks to the really supportive team who went into immediate action.'

John-Edward, a pupil at St Bede's School, Dicker was trying to get down a steep hill when he fell backwards and rolled down the slope.
