Tesco protest in Lewes

POLICE were called to the Lewes branch of Tesco as more than 30 people took part in a peaceful protest against controversial plans to make the store almost 50 per cent bigger.

Climate change activists were joined by local residents and three Lewes town councillors on Saturday (February 27) afternoon.

Protestors went into the Brooks Road supermarket with a empty trollies and then joined together to form conga's within the store before being asked to leave by security staff.
