The Madwoman of Chaillot staged at Lewes Theatre Club
AN escapist comedy is the forthcoming production at Lewes Theatre Club.
The Madwoman of Chaillot, written by Jean Giraudox in 1942 during the Nazi occupation of Paris, has surprising relevance to our current times.
Countess Aurelia, the madwoman of the title, is outraged when she discovers that a syndicate of corrupt businessmen is preparing to drill for oil beneath the streets of Paris. She plans her own form of justice.
The Madwoman of Chaillot features Dilly Barlow in the title role and is directed by Alison Grant.
The play opens on Saturday, February 4, (7.45pm) with further performances from Monday to Saturday (7.45pm) and a matinee on February 11 (2.45pm). Call the Box Office on 01273 474826.
