Thrills and spills of TT race brought to life by Seaford passenger

editorial image

A daredevil from Seaford who won third place in the 2012 Isle of Man TT is speaker at the next Newhaven Chamber of Commerce social and networking event.

BT manager Shaun Parker was an F2 sidecar passenger in one of the scariest challenges ever.

He videoed the 37 mile race from his sidecar and narrates through every bend, twist and hump as we whizz round the treacherous island circuit.

The skills, bravery and concentration levels required are immense, with speeds approaching 200mph.

This is a must-see event for everyone - the spills and thrills - as well as the history of the world-famous TT.

See Shaun in action on Tuesday February 12, 6pm for a 6.30pm start, at Newhaven Enterprise Centre, Denton Island, Newhaven.

Booking is essential and the event is free to Newhaven Chamber members or £10 per person for non-members (nibbles and wine included).

Email office@newhavenchamber.co.uk or ring 01273 517544 to book your place.

With the demise of other legendary events and circuits, the TT Races stand as the last of the great motor-sporting tests in the world today.

Remaining largely untouched since 1911, the 37 and three-quarter miles of public roads on the Isle of Man mountain course have played host to some of the greatest motorcycle races and riders of all time.

From Mike Hailwood’s epic duels with Giacomo Agostini and Phil Read, to the record-breaking rides by Geoff Duke, Mick Grant and Joey Dunlop, the TT simply reverberates with special memories.

This year’s event runs from May 25 to June 7 and you can find out all about it by visiting http://www.iomtt.com/
