Tributes for death crash teen

FAMILY and friends have paid tribute to a former Lewes Priory School pupil who tragically died in a scooter crash last week.

Luke Grundy, 17, was on the A26 near Southease when the collision happened on Wednesday June 24.

He attended Telscombe Cliffs Community Primary School and then moved to Lewes Priory School.

The popular teenager lived in Telscombe Cliffs, Lewes and had just recently moved to Newhaven.

This tribute was sent to us from Annie Derrick, Heidi, Alison Aveline, Brooke and Crystal Sumner: "I was a good friend of Luke Grundy. He was a wonderful person to be around. Always laughing and making jokes, he enjoyed life to it's full extent even though he suffered for a long time with ME (a horrible illness).

"We enjoyed many times playing random games and competing each other at games of pool.

"He also enjoyed being out and about, fishing and camping.

"I and close friends are shocked and very upset that such a good person has been taken from us.

"We loved having him around and will never forget the great memories we have shared. We are truly priveleged to have known Luke and he will forever live on in our hearts and fond memories."

For the full report including tributes from the family see the front page of this week's (July 3) Sussex Express.
