TV star at Black Cat day at rescue centre
Kim Woodburn, the co-star of Channel Four's How Clean Is Your House, will be the official guest of honour at Cats Protection's Black Cat Day tomorrow (Saturday)
Cat-loving Kim, who adopted her cat, Daisy from the charity, will officially open the event which takes place at the charity's National Cat Adoption Centre in Chelwood Gate from 10am until 4pm.
The day will celebrate all things Black Cat, including Halloween and ghosts. The centre will be decorated like a cavern and there will be a range of activities including face painting and a ghostly walk around the grounds of the charity's National Cat Centre, where the centre is based.
Visitors are also urged to come in fancy dress and/or bring a carved pumpkin with them, as there will be a competition for the best one of each, with Kim picking the winner!
The day also includes a chance to tour the centre, which is home to more than 250 unwanted cats in need of a home – including over 70 black cats. Entry is free, refreshments will be available, and there is free parking on site.
Kim said: "I'm very much looking forward to the charity's Black Cat Day. I certainly feel lucky to have my cat Daisy – as she is an affectionate character who brings a lot of joy into my life – so I hope Black Cat Day brings luck for many owners and they find their ideal feline partner."
For more information about the Black Cat Day, please call the centre on 08707 708649. A map/directions to the centre can be found at http://www.cats.org.uk/contact/ncc.asp.
