Twinning Associations link up to discuss future plans

Members of Hailsham and District Twinning Association met to discuss the merits of retaining links with their respective towns.

More than 30 people met met together to share ideas and discuss the cultural, educational and sporting benefits of maintaining links with English and European Twinned Towns.

The towns involved were Hailsham, Polegate, Crowborough, Ringmer,Uckfield and Newhaven Twinning Association met together to share ideas and discuss the cultural, educational and sporting benefits of maintaining links with English and European Twinned Towns.

Among the discussions was how to maitain the hard work of committees and members to fund raise for visits including exchange trips, social events, and youth camps throughout the year.

Plans for the associations to maintain closer links together to promote twinning and to share host families, fund raising events and twinning trips were also discussed.

Many of the associations already take part in Cycling Exchanges, Youth Camps, Music Festivals Carnivals .

Hailsham and District Twinning Association will play hosts to 12 French guests for the Hailsham Bonfire Weekend on 20th October.

All Twinning Associations are looking for new members, aspecially those aged under 40-years-old who have new ideas for twinning events and exchanges.
