Two arrested following break-in at centre

POLICE arrested two people after Broadbridge Heath Village Centre was targeted by burglars.

The hall's alarm went off at about 6am on August 22 and despite police quickly arriving at the scene within seven minutes, the thieves had managed to escape.

Some tobacco and 40 of cash from fruit machines had been stolen and more than 1,000 of damage had been caused by the burglars in gaining entry to the premises.

Although the intruders had attempted to damage the CCTV system the alarm company engineer managed to recover images off the thieves.

Sussex Police arrested a 17-year-old male and a 24-year-old male on suspicion of burglary and they have been bailed pending further inquiries.

A police spokesperson added: "These same two men were already on bail, having been arrested, on the August 17, on suspicion of stealing lead from the roof of the Causeway Horsham in the early hours of the morning."
