Two children and a man had to be rescued by firefighters this morning (Friday February 7) after their car became trapped in flood water in Barcombe.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to Barcombe Mills Road at 8:22am this morning after reports people were trapped in the water.

A spokeswoman for the fire service said two teams in dry suits were deployed who rescued the two children before helping the man by using an inflatable rescue path where they were led to safety.

The children were left in the care of ambulance crews while fire crews rescued the man.
