Youngsters are firmly in the frame at Uckfield Picture House this autumn with a programme of activities that will stir memories for grown-ups old enough to remember Saturday morning movies.
A brand new season of films designed especially for children starts next month. From recent blockbusters to classic family favourites, all rated either U or PG, they can enjoy a special outing on Saturdays from 10.30am starting with Monsters University on Saturday, October 12. Tickets cost just £3 (£1.50 extra for 3D.) Also coming up, Despicable Me 2, Smurfs 2 and Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters. Children under eight must be accompanied by an adult.
Children are also invited to go to the Picture House with their friends to enjoy a special birthday party package. When the family arrives, tell a member of staff that it’s a birthday so they can read the name out and get everybody celebrating. Or email in a picture of the birthday boy and girl in advance and before the film they can see themselves up on the big screen. There are two party packages, Film and Kiosk Treats and Film and Birthday Meal both of which include the ticket price and some refreshments. Pick up a leaflet in the cinema.
Not quite for kids but you need to bring a baby to get in. The Picture House also launches a their Bring the Baby screenings every Wednesday morning at 10.45am. From October 16 parents and guardians with babies under one year can come and watch the latest film releases without worrying about whether the baby is disturbing anyone. The lighting will brighter than normal and the volume reduced, in order to create a calming environment.
