UCKFIELD'S ROYAL DAY
THE Duke of York was in Uckfield today (Tuesday, February 21) to officially open the Wealden Skills Centre at the Bellbrook Business Park.
He visited as part of his role as the UK's special representative for international trade and investment.
The skills centre will be used by the four community colleges in Wealden at Heathfield, Uckfield, Uplands and Beacon to improve training in the district.
In the first year, the Skills Centre will focus on construction and motor vehicles for students who attend the community colleges.
Afterwards he visited businesses Gunnebo, a security solution company and TR Fastenings.
Prince Andrew had lunch provided by Uckfield's Phish Restaurant while at TR Fastenings.
