Video: Stormy weather hits the Newhaven coast

Waiting for Video...

Stormy gales along the coast were captured today (Tuesday January 29) by Sussex Express photographer Peter Cripps at Newhaven.

Roads have been flooded after hours of rain and waves were whipped up by the strong winds.

The Met Office predicts a mild night with outbreaks of rain and drizzle tonight, followed by periods of more prolonged and sometimes heavy rain.

The wind should ease.

Tomorrow will start with cloud and rain will quickly move away eastwards.

There will be breezy conditions with broken cloud, allowing sunny intervals to occur, and isolated showers will follow, later becoming mainly dry.
