VIDEO: New mental health centre opens

MANY young patients across the county will be helped by the brand new state-of-the-art mental health hospital in Haywards Heath.

With its modern brightly coloured play areas, art studio and theatre space, Chalkhill, based in the premises of the Princess Royal, challenges preconceptions of a traditional mental health hospital for young people.

All the way through the planning stages for the 7m centre, children and staff have been involved in saying what they want and what will work for them.

The new centre will provide vital care for five to 18-year-olds from across Sussex who suffer with acute mental health problems.
