Are you interested in sharing your local knowledge of Newhaven?

Are you keen to give something back to your community? Do you enjoy walking?

If you have answered yes to these questions then this could be the role for you.

Newhaven Community Development Association is on the lookout for a volunteer health walks leader.

They would lead or assist with free health walks in Newhaven in a group setting, meeting and welcoming group members.

Other parts of this role would include planning safe walking routes appropriate for the weather conditions and group attending, promoting the health walks in the local community and completing and encouraging the completion of monitoring forms with the public to ensure NCDA can demonstrate use of the service and need for future funding applications.

There will be induction training for the healthy walks leader, including first aid training, health and safety and the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults.

NCDA is looking for someone with good communication skills, an ability to assist members of the public select the correct information for their needs, experience of working with the public, ideally vulnerable or excluded groups and an ability to deal with challenging situations.

An enhanced criminal records bureau check is required for this role.

There will be Free Health Walk Leader Training on Tuesday February 26 from 9.30am – 4.30pm.
