Volunteers wanted for Marie Curie Cancer Care Street Collection in Lewes

Marie Curie Cancer Care is organising a street collection in Lewes town centre on Saturday, March 23, and is looking for volunteers to help collect between 10am and 4pm.

The charity asked: “Could you Give us an Hour?”

It believes that everyone should have the choice to die at home. Its nurses provide free, specialist end of life care allowing people to die at home surrounded by friends and family.

Everyone who needs a Marie Curie nurse should be able to get one, says the charity. Marie Curie Cancer Care believes passionately that the best possible care at the end of life should be available to everyone – in their place of choice.

Cancer kills more people throughout the world than any other illness. One in four people will contract cancer during their lifetime and one in three people will die from it. No-one likes to think that they will need the services Marie Curie can offer, but its nurses provide end of life care for hundreds of people every year, enabling them to die with dignity.

If you can help with the street collection, please call Toni Denyer on 07798 638 087 and help someone in their final hours.
