Wave Leisure Health Walkers boost funds for Families For Autism
Healthy walks leaders
Walkers helped boost their health and the coffers of charity Families For Autism during the past year.
The Wave Leisure Health Walkers presented a cheque for £193 to the charity at Peacehaven Leisure Centre on Monday March 4 raised through walks and social events.
Wave Leisure managing director Peter Crowley said: “We are proud of our health walk leaders, who not only do a sterling job for us in leading the walks, but also organise a number of charitable activities for their participants.”
Health walks are short walks in Lewes, Newhaven, Peacehaven and Seaford led by trained volunteers and generally held on level ground.
They provide both warm-ups and stretches to loosen any stiff muscles.
Founded by parents, carers and other family members, who all have children or young people on the autistic spectrum, Families for Autism is a passionate and caring group.
Their mission is to provide support, encouragement and understanding to children and young people on the Autistic Spectrum, as well as their families within the Eastbourne and East Sussex area. http://www.familiesforautism.com
