Will you be doing Random Acts of Kindness today?

Hastings and St Leonards residents are encouraging people to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day today (Thursday).

The day was created by locals, who hope it will become a country-wide event, promoting kindness in communities, schools workplaces across the UK.

Organiser Sarah Evans said: "We're encouraging people to make small acts of kindness -something that costs nothing and has a profound impact.

"We're asking people to do little things on that day like taping a thank you note to the front door for the postman/postwoman, putting an extra treat in your shopping basket to give to the person behind the till, or paying for the person behind you at a toll bridge/tunnel.

"Anything at all that would make someone else happy or feel good.

"Why? To have fun and to enjoy spreading and receiving kindness which will create a ripple of happiness throughout the UK and beyond."
