Wind farm could generate a 100 jobs

A PORT town is in pole position to house an offshore wind farm which could generate over 100 jobs.

MP Norman Baker said a site ten miles off the coast of Newhaven had been earmarked for the development.

This week the MP welcomed Government plans to push ahead with developing offshore wind farms.

Mr Baker said: 'This announcement is good news for the environment and potentially very good news for Newhaven.

'There is a real opportunity for Newhaven to benefit from the government's enthusiasm for offshore wind.

See this week's Sussex Express (July 3) for the full story.
