Wizard of Oz continues its run in Newhaven

The Wizard of Oz will be the panto to lift you out of your January blues this weekend.

Meeching Amateur Dramatic Society are sticking to the orignial story and continuing their nightly run this week, finishing on Saturday January 26 at Meeching Hall, Fort Road, Newhaven.

Tickets are £8 adult and £5 children. Tickets are available from Meeching Estate Agents, High Street, Newhaven on 01273 515566.

A spokesperson for the group said: “The whole family will hiss, boo, laugh and cry as the fearless foursome (except for the Lion of course who is not fearless but just wants his Mum) try to reach the Wizard and are then frustrated along the way by the Wicked Witch of the West, with her three Malicious Monkeys and in turn helped by the other Witches, Munchkins and the Emeralders.

“The whole energetic production is immersed in the usual high standard of comedy from MAD, together with dance, mayhem and songs.”

It includes two songs especially written for the production by two local people, Jim Harvey and Paul Boswell.
