Work is underway on building Seaford’s state of the art library

DEMOLITION of the old Seaford Library is now underway, according to East Sussex County Council.

A new library will be open for business on the site in Sutton Park Road in the first half of 2014.

It will offer improved library services to the town and the surrounding area, as well as a more flexible day service.

A county council spokesperson said: “Work on the new £6m development at Seaford – to include a library, social care day services and supported living flats – has started with demolition work at the site in Sutton Park Road.

“We expect that the new library and social care complex will be open for business in the first half of 2014.

“We’ve also recently published our latest newsletter for local people giving more details about the Warwick House development.

“The newsletter includes information about the project and also about the day service at Homefield Place and temporary library in Blatchington Road.”

Residents can receive the newsletter electronically by sending an email to WHD@eastsussex.gov.uk to join the distribution list.

They can also download a copy of the newsletter via the county council’s website at www.eastsussex.gov.uk/socialcare/aboutus/developments/warwick.
